Best Spots
For a view of almost half of the track, the main spectator banking
around the old hairpin allows you to see from Hollywood right up to
McLeans. If you're infield, sit up the bank midway between the Spitfire
and the Spark Plug (it'll make sense when you get there).
For Superbike events, make a trip to Coppice to see the bikes slipping
and sliding as the riders get the power down out of the corner for the
long Starkey's Straight.
For photo opportunities, you can get closest to the cars at Craner,
Redgate and for GP Circuit events, Melbourne corners. You'll still need
a zoom lens though. There's always some action at the Old Hairpin if
you're looking for offs, especially in one-make series like Clios and
especially Tuscans as they get on the brakes after the drop down the
hill.
