Morgan Motor Company and OAK Racing have announced that they have entered into a partnership that will see the new 2012 OAK-Pescarolo LMP2 cars compete as Morgan LMP2s. It will be manufactured by Onroak Automotive, OAK Racing’s constructor department, which is based at the Technoparc des 24 Heures in Le Mans.

McLaren has today confirmed its plans to bring back the McLaren name to GT sports cars racing. From 2012, McLaren and CRS Racing will supply and support a limited number of GT3 racing cars based on the McLaren MP4-12C high-performance sports car for European-based privateers.

Nigel Mansell will not be driving in the final round of the 2010 Le Mans Series at Silverstone this weekend on Doctor’s Orders. The 1992 Formula One World Champion, who had a massive high speed crash at Le Mans in June, was hoping to return to the cockpit alongside his sons Leo and Greg for the Silverstone 1000km on Sunday 12 September.
