Stephen Colbert Set to Return to SEAT Cupra
Championship in 2004

Dungannon's Stephen Colbert is set to return to the Holiday Inn SEAT
Cupra Championship in 2004, and when he does the talented 25-year old
driver from Northern Ireland will be one of the favourites for the Championship
winning prize of a works touring car contract with SEAT UK in 2005.
In his first season of saloon car racing, Stephen finished 6th in the
2003 SEAT Cupra Championship and won £25,000 by finishing runner-up
the Holiday Inn SEAT Super Prix at Brands Hatch in September. Following
his excellent first-season performance, Stephen's 250PS turbocharged
Leon Cupra R racing car has retained the support of Auto Trader, Track
Smart and Supagard for 2004.
Stephen said: “I’m ninety five per cent certain to contest
the SEAT Cupra Championship again in 2004, and I hope to be able to
confirm everything at the Autosport Show in January. This is the
first time in my career that I’ve been able to sort everything
out so early in the season and it will allow me to really focus and
prepare well for the series. I’ll be racing to win the SEAT
title in 2004 – that will be my only aim.
“It’s impossible to find another championship with a better
prize and the amount of media coverage the SEAT Cupra Championship gives
a driver and his sponsors is fantastic. You could easily spend
three or four times the amount you do at SEAT in another series and
only get a tenth of the coverage. My sponsors have been delighted,
and I’m please to say that all three of my main sponsors - Auto
Trader, Track Smart and Supagard – will be supporting me again
in 2004.”
