February 2004
The first event in the 2004 Kwik-Fit Pirelli British Rally Championship
calendar has been announced and promises to launch this year's competition
with a big splash for competitors, teams and spectators alike.
BRC Live! will take place on Sunday 21st March 2004 at the Bramcote
Army Base, just outside Nuneaton, Warwickshire, and is set to provide
a fun day out for all the family. Combining the chance to watch
- and even ride in a rally car - with opportunities to talk to many
competitors and teams, it will give ardent fans a real insight into
the contenders for this year's Championship. A fun fair and dodgems,
plus VIP hospitality, covered grandstands and a wide variety of trade
stalls will widen the appeal of the event to all the family.
"BRC Live! is designed to kick off the Championship with a big
splash by providing spectators with the chance to see the cars, the
drivers and the teams that will be competing, close at hand", confirmed
Mark Taylor, Championship Manager. "But this isn't just an
event for the BRC afficionados - we hope it will entice fans of other
sports into rallying by giving them a thrilling insight in to the sport
and the people behind it. And we aren't neglecting the families
either - the fun fair, dodgems and other side shows should provide plenty
of entertainment for all ages."
Building on the hugely successful inaugural event in March 2003, the
2004 BRC Live! will enjoy the support of the Motorsport in the Midlands
group, with local authority support. The event is open to BRC
registered competitors or those Teams who have declared an intention
to register for the series, with a maximum of 30 places available.A
short special stage, featuring a mix of broken surface and gravel with
open corners, will give BRC competitors the opportunity to demonstrate
car control. And facilities will be provided for rides to be offered
both for team sponsors, guests and general spectators.
Details including venue map and layout are available on the Championship
website; www.brcweb.co.uk
There will be a free car park within walking distance of the stage.

"Ride in a Rally Car" draw - 30 chances to win a ride
in one of the participating cars; £6 for 12-18 year olds and Under
