Paul Tod's BRC Campaign is Live!

PT Rallying Stilo22 March 2004

Paul Tod Rallying took part in Sunday’s BRC Live! in Nuneaton to officially launch the Kall Kwik Pirelli British Rally Championship season. Their brand new MII / Haywood Demolition Stilo was one of only 30 cars taking part in the prestigious event, designed to give the general public a chance to get close to the action and to meet the top rally stars including big names like Gwyndaf Evans, Johnny Milner and Justin Dale. The event included a short demonstration rally stage, with a complex of hairpins and chicanes providing plenty of sideways action.

Paul took full advantage of the opportunity to familiarize himself with the new car, and had the privilege of entertaining the winners of local radio station Fosseway FM’s ‘Ride in a Stilo’ competition during the morning, giving them a ride in the car, the chance to see the team in action, and even a little experience of using pace notes.

Fiat Stilo Cup Cars"It was great to get out in the car at last," says Paul. “The whole team got good experience, and we’ve learnt a lot about the car. Now we’ve got a base line to work from as we experiment with different set-ups and techniques. The season is well and truly underway, which is great – it feels like years since our last rally.

"It was really enjoyable giving the competition winners an experience of a rally car. I’m glad to say they were brilliant guests, and they all loved it.
"But now the hard work really starts. The first BRC round is on April 23/24th and we have a whole lot of testing and practise to do before then. Oh yes, and a repair to a small ‘dink’ in the front where I clipped a hay bale on Sunday…!"
