08 April 2004
Ahead of the first round of the 2004 Kwik Fit Pirelli British Rally
Championship comes exciting news that this year's Championship can
be watched by rally
fans on the web as well as on Channel 4 TV. Providing footage from each
round of the Championship, as well as interviews and other news throughout the
season, BRC TV will provide an internet based solution direct from www.brcweb.co.ukenabling
rally fans to see BRC programmes both past and present.
Working in partnership with Greenlight TV, the official television rights holders
for the BRC, each round of the Championship will be screened on BRC TV – giving
rally fans the chance to see the action straight after each event. BRC
TV will also feature other special features and programmes produced by Greenlight,
giving Championship followers the ability to stay completely up to date with
news from the events, the drivers, the teams and the organisers.
"This is tremendously exciting for the British Rally Championship",
confirmed Mark Taylor, Championship Manager. "As well as extended
coverage planned for Channel 4 this year, we are now going to reach an even wider
audience by broadcasting on the web from each event of the Championship. This
is another demonstration of the commitment being made to the BRC to give the
teams and their sponsors the widest possible exposure as well as enabling rally
fans to exploit the internet for all the news they could want on the Championship."
Greenlight TV Company Director and Producer of BRC TV, Rob Hurdman highlighted; "We
are delighted to be able to use new and rapidly-improving technology to bring
the excitement of rallying to as many people as possible. We believe this is
the first step on a road which has many more incredible developments still ahead."
