Permission to Race - Team Darkness Breaks
Cover at Rockingham
24 April 2004
The UK's hottest music property The Darkness have put their name on
a Days of
Thunder race car for the full 2004 season at Rockingham.
Following their appearance
on the Rockingham stage last August, Lowestoft's favourite sons have
taken the British music industry by storm and Rockingham have maintained
a close relationship with the band. At the Thunder at the Rock event last year,
Roland Rehfeld's car was sponsored by The Darkness in a one race meeting deal.
The Darkness agreed that they would like to see this happen again in 2004 and
so Team Darkness was born.
Kidd Richardson Racing's Shaun Richardson is extremely pleased at the
news "The
Darkness is a monster brand to put on our car and this deal is fantastic news
for us and the series. I am positive we will do the band proud this year and
look forward to bringing the car home at the front on May 2nd!"
Rockingham has continued to work closely with The Darkness since
last year and even provided a 1969 Ford Mustang - complete with
flames and Darkness logos -
for the band to arrive in style at the recent BRITs, where they picked up three
awards, including Best Album for their smash hit 'Permission to Land'.
The Darkness will get to see their car this weekend when
a special photocall has been arranged with the team on their return
from
their recent successful
trip to America.
The fans will get their first opportunity to see the new
car when Team Darkness takes to the track on Sunday 2nd May for the
first meeting of the 2004 season.
