Largest Mobile History of MG Cars Parade
from Brooklands to Brighton
29 April 2004
Approaching 800 MG cars, spanning the marque's 80 years,
will be taking part in the MG Regency Run on Sunday, May 9. Leaving
Brooklands the MGs will journey to Madeira Drive, Brighton, representing
the event's largest gathering in its 21-year history and coinciding
this year with the marque's 80th anniversary.
Richard Monk, General
Manager of the MG Owners' Club, said: "MG
has the largest following of one-marque enthusiasts worldwide. This
event is just one illustration of the passion held by those owning
an MG and the sight of so many MGs en-route and assembled on Brighton
seafront will be a fantastic spectacle."
The Regency Run is jointly
organised by the MG Owners' Club and MG Car Club with an enormously
varied collection of MGs taking part. The Brooklands Museum Race Track
is the site of many historic wins for MG, most notably the first 750cc
100mph record and the double-twelve hour race win.
The run is directed
through the beautiful by-ways, rather than the highways, of Surrey
and Sussex. In celebration of its 21st year and coinciding with the
80th year of MG production each entrant will receive a special commemorative
Regency Run key fob to mark the occasion. Such is the popularity of
this event that practically every MG type is to be represented with
the current MG models including the very latest ZT 260 V8 and the stunning
MG XPower SV.
MSport-UK will be taking part in the run, and we'll bring
you all the news and photos from the event on our dedictaed MG channel
