Team Jedi Make Progress, but still miss out
on the Points at Mondello Park

Team Jedi finished 10th in both rounds of the British GT Cup class
at Mondello Park this weekend. 14 cars entered the Cup Class at this
event.
Drivers Rob Horsfield and Frazer Corbyn had never driven at Mondello
Park before and were glad to have 15 minutes of sighting laps each
on the Friday before race day.
"It is a track that takes a long time to learn, because it has
so many corners." Said Rob Horsfield, "Although it is ideal
for nimble cars like our Lotus, our lack of track knowledge means we
have
taken longer to get up to speed here."
The team managed a tenth place finish in race one,
despite losing lots of time by being picked up out of sequence by the
safety car. Improvement
in race two was prevented as a slipping clutch limited the acceleration
in 6th gear and severely hampered downshifts.
"Its disappointing not
to score points again," said Frazer Corbyn, "but
we are getting closer to the pace we need and by finishing all 4 races
so far we are building up valuable experience!"
The team now has until
the next race (June the 5th and 6th at Snetterton) to work on improvements
to the car and fine-tune its set-up.
Team Jedi Racing is a new team to
the GT world but has run many successful campaigns in Formula Honda,
Monoposto and F600 Championships. Rob Horsfield is the 2003
Monoposto 1200 cc Champion and Formula Honda 1000cc Champion having
won 13 races outright in 2003. Frazer Corbyn is the 2001 and 2002 Monoposto 1200 Champion.
