Brunty or Bust! The Great SELOC Charity Event 2004

Brunty or Bust14 July 2004

On the 31st July 2004, SELOC, Europe's largest on-line Lotus enthusiast club will be holding The Great SELOC Charity Event, sponsored by ADR Racing and PTP on behalf of Tommys, the baby charity.

The event will be centred on the Bruntingthorpe proving ground in the Midlands. With over 200 cars already registered for the event, the organisers would like to see that number break the 500 car barrier to help raise as much money as possible for the charity. The event is not strictly limited to the Lotus marque and other sports car marques are encouraged to participate.

SELOC is free to join and it's not too late to register and put your name down for one of the runs... The event starts with multiple car runs, of up to 2 hours driving, along designated routes starting from five locations around the UK: All runs converge on Bruntingthorpe from mid-morning, where a range of events and activities will be available for all to enjoy throughout the day. You can find out more about these events and activities on the event website.

Tommy's the Baby Charity was set up in 1992 and, through a national programme of research, aims to end the heartache caused by premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage. Tommy's also provides information on healthy pregnancy to parents and health professionals.

Funds for Tommy's are raised via an entry fee of £20 per car from those participating in the runs or £25 per car on the gate. Those doing the runs will also be raising funds through sponsorship with an additional incentive of the entry fee refunded if £70 or more is raised and collected! - sponsorship forms available from the event web site - the individual raising and collecting the most sponsorship by 15th September will win a weekend at the Jurys Inn, Chelsea off the Kings Road in London! Additional fund-raising will come from the on-line auction that is taking place on the SELOC website, which will be run right up until the event! Some superb items up for auction include a passenger ride in Team Jedi Racing's Lotus Motorsport Elise British GT Cup car so place your bids now, and whether you win the auction or not, get yourself down to Bruntingthorpe for what is sure to be a great day out.

Team Jedi, a featured team on MSportUK will be one of a number of teams and manufacturers supporting the event and present at the show, also including Lotus Cars and Noble. Title sponsor ADR's new 2 seat X-Powered race car will be on track at Bruntingthorpe - see the charity auction for an opportunity to win a passenger ride in this innovative race car!
