Scuderia Ferrari Draws Exceptional Crowd
to SeeRed as Bertolini Obliterates Donington Lap Record

September 2004
Dry weather, contrary to the forecast, drew
a crowd of some 12,000 people to the Vintage Sports-Car Club's SeeRed
event over the weekend of 11-12 September, to witness a splendid pageant
of vintage and historic racing, coupled with the chance to see Ferrari
Formula One cars in action.
Star amongst the attractions was Ferrari Formula One
test driver, Andrea Bertolini who unofficially broke the National circuit
lap record with a time of 54.937 seconds. Driving a 2002 championship
winning car, the Scuderia Ferrari's best lap was 0.922 seconds inside
the official lap record set last year by Scott Manell in a Formula
Boss Race.
Considerable interest was generated by the Aon Classic
Car Concours over the weekend with the judges awarding first price
of £2,500 to the Jaguar Drivers Club, with David Eynon's superb 1964
Daimler 2.5 V8.
News o nnext year's event will be posted on the official
event website, www.see-red.uk.com as it becomes available, along with
reports from the 2004 event.
