New Circuits and 18 Rounds for the 2005 SEAT
Cupra Championship
04
October 2004
The
2005 SEAT Cupra Championship has been expanded to 18 rounds, with the
series playing a more significant role as a TOCA support as it races
at all-but one of the next year’s British Touring Car Championship
meetings.
The 2005 SEAT Cupra Championship will race at nine rounds
of the 2005 BTCC, opting to miss the meeting at Mondello Park in Ireland.
It will be the first time the Leon Cupra Rs have raced at Snetterton,
on the Silverstone National Circuit (having raced on the Grand Prix
track in 2003 and International Circuit in 2004) and on the Brands
Hatch Grand Prix Circuit.
With a cash prize fund of over £200,000
and the top four drivers given a chance to impress in a SEAT touring
car test, the 18 round 2005 SEAT Cupra Championship is expected to
be hotly contested.
Drivers and teams wishing to register their interest in the SEAT Cupra
Championship for 2005 should contact Mark Turner on 07780 67 53 51,
or by e-mail at mark.turner@seatsportuk.co.uk.
