Second Place Sucks! - New Motor for the New
Year at BIGFOOT Europe
22
January 2005
Nigel Morris of L.A. Supertrux Ltd and owner-driver of BIGFOOT #17
has just announced the acquisition of a new 572 cu in Ford Racing motor
from BIGFOOT HQ in St-Louis. The new engine is being installed at L.A.
Supertrux’s Daventry base and is scheduled for testing at the
end of January. The new engine is a direct response to the engines
being used by some of our competitors who have stepped up their motor
programs.
Originally built with a Ford 514 cu in engine, Nigel says he is cautious
about getting behind the wheel of a truck with such a huge increase
in horsepower. When you have people like BIGFOOT engine guru John Peterson
and the vastly experienced Jim Kramer telling you that you best be
holding onto something solid the first time you lay the hammer down,
you have to treat that engine with respect!!
Nigel hopes that the new engine will put him back on track for another
championship win. Having won the title in 2003 and so narrowly lost
it in 2004, "I’d have to say that it kinda stings when I
think about it. So for 2005 it a new motor, and the whole truck is
receiving
a thorough service from top to bottom."
