Historic
Motorsport Awards Presented at Successful Second Show

The very best drivers, riders, navigators, organisers, companies
and journalists of the European historic motorsport world were honoured
at the annual Historic Motorsport Awards Charity Dinner, held
in association with the 2nd International Historic Motorsports Show.
All profits from the dinner were donated to the Motorsport Safety Fund
(MSF), the Motor & Allied Trades Benevolent Fund (BEN) and the
Historic Vehicle Research Institute (HVRI).
Nominations were invited
from throughout the historic motorsport community. The final award
winners were chosen by a panel comprising John Aley, Helen Bashford-Malkie,
Dean Butler, Colin Francis, Don Griffiths (chair), Simon Hope, Mike
Jackson, Paul Loveridge, Karl Ludvigsen, Martin Grant Peterkin, John
Quenby, Carol Spagg, Stuart Turner and Grahame White. The following
awards were presented on Saturday 26 February:

The organisers of the show were pleased to announce that attendance
at the show was up by a third from last year, with almost 21,000 people
passing through the gates at Stoneleigh. They were joined by over 200
press respresentatives from around the world to see the 476 exhibitors,
up from around 300 in 2004.
The third Historic Motorshow has been confirmed for 24-26 February
2006 at Stoneleigh Park, near Coventry.
