Claire Tippet Ready for Race 1 of the VW
Racing Cup
29 March
2005
The long winter wait is almost over as Claire gears up for this weekend's
opening VW Racing Cup Race at Donington Park, Leicestershire.
Once again the VW Racing Cup has attracted one of the largest grids in national
racing with 29 regular racers not to mention guest drivers in the 2.0 New Golf
GTi and 1.9 Caddy TDi. It looks like a season of very exciting racing lies ahead,
and MSportUK Featured Driver Claire
Tippet is ready to roll.
"I am looking forward to the new season" said Claire. "I'm a bit
anxious to get the season on the way and to see how our race pace is. It's a
strong field
and some interesting circuits so it looks set to be an exciting year"
Claire's Golf has a new look inside and out with a new 2-litre engine powering her
Mk1 GTi. Claire reports back from a test at Castle Combe that the pick up of
the car is much improved and that the car felt good. The test was an opportunity
to put some miles on the new engine before a trip to the rolling road and for
a once over from Superchips later this week. Claire has also been aided
in the engine department by her work colleagues at Legends Racing.
Once again Claire's car is being prepared by ATMR and has undergone a paint job
to join her ATMR 'team-mates', Dave Turner and Lloyd Allard, in white and blue
livery.
