Caterham Roadsport Racers Set for Snett
09 June 2005
Competitors in the Motorsport News Caterham Roadsport Challenge resume
battle next weekend (18/19 June) at Snetterton in Norfolk, where
a total of more than 45 cars are expected to contest four races.
Thanks to his wins at Oulton Park and Knockhill, Essex driver Neil
Fletcher leads the Roadsport Inter class runners to Snetterton
- albeit by only six points from
Derbyshire-based 18-year-old Guy Harrington, the first-round victor and reigning
evo Caterham Academy champion.
Newmarket's Tony Poole will be hoping to follow up his fourth-round
win in Scotland with a home turf victory, but there are several
other Inter-class
racers looking
for top honours also, including reigning Class B champion Mike Blackadder
and former Academy titlists Mike Richards and Nick Potter.
In the Roadsport B class, Bromley's Jeremy Ellis enjoys a handsome
points lead thanks to his consistent top-three finishing record,
but Knockhill double
winner
Patrick Gormley (London) is closing fast both on him and on Essex 24-year-old
Henry Fletcher, who's taken a win, a second and a third from the season's
four races.
Also due to be in action at Snetterton is 31-year-old Antonios Salmatanis,
the Athens-based driver who took a podium placing last month at the wheel
of his
Roadsport B in what was his first proper motor race.
