Mansell Back on Track at Brands Hatch WTCC
09 May 2006
It's been 20 years since legend Nigel Mansell took victory in the last
Formula One race to be held at Brands Hatch, and the former World Champion
will be back at the famous Grand Prix circuit on 21 May.
The World Touring Car event will see him return to the scene of his
first ever F1 triumph, when he'll get behind the wheel of a flame-spitting
BMW M3 GTR, the one Andy Priaulx drove to victory in the Nurburgring
24 hour race last year.
Mansell, who will complete a number of demonstration laps, spoke recently
of his enthusiasm for the Kent circuit and the improvements made since
being purchased by MotorSport Vision.
"Full marks to (MSV Chief Executive) Jonathan Palmer, I think
he's done a great job with Brands Hatch. It's a track that's very close
to my heart".
As well as Mansell's demonstration laps, 21 May at Brands Hatch will
feature two World Touring Car races, two races for the Formula Palmer
Audi Championship, a round of the F3000 International Masters, Formula
BMW and two races for Historic Saloons and GTs.
Raceday tickets are just £24 if booked online, and you can order
now by clicking www.motorsportvision.co.uk/WTCC2.
