Best of British Drivers Back Autosport International

08 December 2006

The British motorsport elite will flock to the NEC in Birmingham to meet their fans at the world’s biggest motorsport show, Autosport International, on 13&14 January 2007. Britain’s latest Formula One signing Anthony Davidson will officially open the show to the public on Saturday 13 January whilst the UK’s only World motorsport champion, Andy Priaulx will cut the ribbon to allow the crowds to roam the one-million square foot exhibition on Sunday.

If you are mad about motorsport then you need to get your first motor racing fix of 2007 at Autosport International. Long regarded as the official start to the motor racing season, the show brings together a mouthwatering selection of performance and racing cars, world class international car manufacturer launches, and the all-action Live Action Arena all under one roof.

Super Aguri’s new signing, the popular Anthony Davidson, will boost the Formula One grid of Brits to four next season. Davidson will be appearing on the Autosport Central Stage, fuelled by BP Ultimate; the Karting Stage; the F1 Racing Stage and conducting driver signing sessions on Saturday. Davidson’s Super Aguri teammate Takuma Sato will also be paying a visit to the NEC to meet his British fans for the very first time on Sunday.

From Britain’s latest Formula One driver to the UK’s only World motor racing champion, Andy Priaulx from Guernsey. Although attending the show on Saturday, Priaulx will return on Sunday morning to officially open Autosport International to motorsport fans. The country’s most successful racing driver and a firm fans favourite, Priaulx clinched his double back-to-back FIA World Touring Car title at Macau, China, in a nail-biting duel until the final lap, by just one point.

Joining Davidson and Priaulx will be all manner of British motorsport champions, including British Touring Car Champion Matt Neal, British F3 Champion Mike Conway, Avon Tyres British GT Champions Tim Mullen and Chris Niarchos, plus Matthew Wilson, Britain’s youngest WRC driver. Add to that the cream of international racing stars, from motorsport legends such as Derek Bell, Allan McNish, David Brabham, Mark Blundell and Jason Plato, to the Formula One stars of the future, and this is the show no motorsport fan should miss.

Not only can you rub shoulders with world-class champions at Autosport International, but visitors will also get the exclusive chance to marvel at the new PS3, not available in this country until March next year. Be one of the first to come along and sample the PS3s with their incredible new graphics, motion sensitive controllers and HD clarity. You can be one of the first lucky people to sample the new gaming consoles on three massive high definition screens with Stuff Magazine, the worlds leading gadget and technology magazine. Stuff will have various new PS3 games including F1 Racing, Motorstorm, Lair, Resistance Fall of Man and Ridge Racer.

Also on the Stuff stand you'll find ‘Gadget Doctor’, where you’ll be able to quiz Stuff staff on any technical issues with your own gadgets and catch a glimpse of the must-have essential gadgets for 2007.
