Positive First Test for British GT Newcomers,
CR Suderia
13 December
2007
The brand-new CR Scuderia racing team took to the track for the first time today at Donington
Park, testing an array of drivers for its 2008 British GT Championship
campaign.
The team ran the first of the 2008-spec Ferrari 430 GT3 cars
and it was CRS Team Director, Andrew Kirkaldy, who took to the track
first for a few installation laps.
Following Kirkaldy’s run the car was driven by Porsche Carrera
Cup GB Champion, James Sutton; Formula Renault stars, Dean Smith and
Jeremy Metcalfe; and British GT regulars, Ben de Zille Butler, Tom
Alexander and Michael Bentwood.
CRS Team Manager, Malcolm Swetnam, commented: "We’ve had
a positive and productive day; the car ran faultlessly and all of the
guys we tested thoroughly enjoyed driving the Ferrari."
The next outing for CRS is at Fiorano next Tuesday when Andrew Kirkaldy
will be back behind the wheel; this time to shakedown the world’s
first 2008-spec Ferrari 430 GT2 car.
