Scott and Wilkins Prepare to Strike in 2008
01 February 2008
2007 Avon Tyres British GTC Class Vice Champion Aaron Scott will be
returning to GT3 this season at the wheel of an ABG Motorsport run
Viper Competition Coupe alongside Britcar and Porsche graduate Craig
Wilkins for an assault on the overall 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship
title.
Scott, who won in the British GT3 class at Snetterton in 2006 at the
wheel of an Ascari KZ1R, is looking forward to the challenge and both
he and Wilkins have already been piling on the test miles since the
Kingsbury Jig and Tool Group sponsored car was delivered to the team
from French race preparation company Oreca.
“British GT is looking strong in this year and it’s going
to be a fantastic season,” said Aaron Scott. “Because
the team got the car last November we’ve already got the car
working well and we’ve already gelled as a team well before the
season has started. The Viper is very consistent at all the circuits
and last year proved to be the class of the field. We are very optimistic
of some great results and taking on all those Ferraris.”
The two races of the 14 round Avon Tyres British GT Championship takes
place at Oulton Park in Cheshire this Easter (22 & 24 March). The
official media launch of the 2008 season takes place at Silverstone
on Thursday 6 March when all of the leading contenders for the British
GT and British F3 Championships will gather at the Home of British
Motor Racing.
