First CR Scuderia British GT Drivers Revealed
05 February 2008
Michael Cullen and Paddy Shovlin will race with CR
Scuderia in the GT3 class of the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship.
The Irish pair have raced in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli for
a number of years with great success and now move to British GTs where
they will face stiff competition from a packed field of drivers who
all want to win.
Michael has previously won two
European Championships with the famous Italian ‘Rossocorsa’ team
and Paddy finished third in the 2005 series, so both are more than
familiar with racing Ferraris. They continue their association with
Rossocorsa whilst CR Scuderia has established a technical and logistical
partnership with Rossocorsa to assist with the Irish pair’s ambition
of racing in British GT. Their Ferrari 430 will be based at CR Scuderia’s
brand new technical centre at Bardon in Leicestershire, and the British
GT effort will be backed up by factory-trained Rossocorsa staff joining
CRS at each British race meeting.
“We’re looking forward to racing in the UK again,” said
Michael. “I haven’t done a UK Championship since I raced
Fiestas in 1998/99; I’ve won Irish titles and European titles
but never one in the UK so that’s our target. We’re looking
forward to racing with CR Scuderia and also maintaining our long-term
affiliation with Rossocorsa. We’re not underestimating the competition
as there are some good pairings this year but Paddy and I make a good
team, we’re very comfortable with the 430 and we’re looking
forward to having a lot of fun in British GTs.”
Further driver
pairings for the British GT Championship will be announced in due course.
