for British GT

February 2008
Luke Hines and James Sutton will race together in
a CR Scuderia Ferrari 430 in the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship.
The British pair are both exceptionally talented racers and the CRS
team is delighted to have them on board. Luke provided stiff competition
to CRS Team Principal Chris Niarchos’ own
British GT title fight in 2006 and is looking forward to getting stuck
in again.
"It is great to be back in the British GT Championship,” said
Luke. “My first season in 2006, in the Panoz, developed into
a year-long battle with Chris (Niarchos) and Tim (Mullen), where we
fought for every inch of the track. I am proud to be given this opportunity
to race for Chris’ CRS team which is full of passion and experience.
It will also be good to work with Lee Penn again who engineered my
Panoz in 2006, and Malcolm Swetnam and Eddie Hinckley who I worked
with when I was in the BTCC with SEAT. I am also looking forward to
working with James Sutton, an exciting young driver who already has
a good title under his belt, I know we are both winners and we will
be pushing hard to find the winning formula for CR Scuderia."
James
joins the team fresh from winning the Porsche Carrera Cup GB title
in his debut season.
"I am extremely happy to be racing in the British
GT Championship this year, especially with the team that I will be
a part of,” said
James. “Every component seems to be just right. I’ve always
been aware of how good Luke was, even in our karting days, and judging
by the performances he has had in this championship there is no reason
to suggest he won’t be one of the best drivers in the series.
Besides that, I know that Chris Niarchos has put together a team of
incredible quality that will be seriously strong over the course of
2008. Needless to say I’m really looking forward to the season
kicking off."
Both James and Luke will join CR Scuderia at the
Monteblanco Circuit in Spain next week to test the GT3 cars in preparation
for the new season. The team will also run its two FIA GT cars at the
test that runs from Monday until Wednesday.
