Hooker has announced
he will contest the VdeV-UK Championship alongside Sarah Reader in
a Juno SSE-CN.
This is the inaugural season for the VdeV-UK series, based on the
highly successful European model with endurance races of between 3
and 6 hours on the calendar. Indeed, the Juno Racing team won the 2007
VdeV-EU Championship and their sports prototypes, built and designed
by former Formula One designer Ewan Baldry, will make a sizeable presence
on the VdeV-UK grid.
Ryan is no stranger to Juno having raced in the two final rounds of
the 2007 VdeV-EU Championship and it is a car and team he has long
admired.
“I am very excited to be signed up for the VdeV-UK Championship” says
Ryan. “The Juno is an excellent car and very enjoyable to drive.
Sarah is super quick and I am sure we can make a strong partnership
in what looks set to be a competitive series. I think the VdeV-UK series
is a great addition to British racing and will hopefully bring prototype
racing to a larger audience, it’s a great form of racing.”
Ryan’s season kicks off at Donington Park on 12-13 April with
the opening race lasting 3 hours.
