BIGFOOT
17 Makes its Debut at Live Promotions Truckfest
07 May 2003
BIGFOOT #17 made its public debut at the Live Promotions
Truckfest event held in Peterborough at the East of England Showground
in the UK on the 4th & 5th of May.
Live Promotions had heavily featured the debut of the
new Euro BIGFOOT in all of its promotional material in recognition of
the significance of the event. For the first time Europe has it's very
own version of the Monster Truck legend that is BIGFOOT.
Sunday's show achieved record attendance at a Truckfest
event topping 88,000 visitors. BIGFOOT #17 owner, builder and driver
Nigel Morris and his L.A. Supertrux Ltd organisation supplied all of
the monster trucks for the two-day event, with former crew chief Drew
Thornton taking the wheel in the Wild Child monster truck.
The weekend wasn't without incident however as BIGFOOT
#17 split the case on the transmission on its first visit to the arena
on Sunday. The LAS crew swung into action locating a replacement case
and swapping all the trick BTE components over in time for the main
event on the Monday.
The debut of BIGFOOT #17 marks a turning point in the
history of monster trucks in Europe, meaning as it does that there is
now a permanent representative of the Biggest name in monster trucks
located on European soil. For event promoters and corporate sponsors
alike there has never been a better time to use the marketing power
of monster trucks, and in particular the BIGFOOT name.
The Euro BIGFOOT team would like to thank all of its sponsors
for their assistance in making this ambitious project happen, and in
particular Nigel wants to thank Bob Chandler for believing in him enough
to trust him with the BIGFOOT brand in Europe.
