The
MG Car Club assisted by Mayflower plc and MG Sport & Racing Limited
have joined forces to ensure more MG circuit action during 2003. The
Mayflower MG Trophy will consist of three classes – MG TF Cup,
MGF Trophy and MG ZR, which will be contested over a total of 11 rounds
on some of the UK’s premier circuits and for the first for 2003
the series will visit the famous Spa Francorchamps, Belgium.
A ‘Driver of the Day’ will be awarded at each round and
the highest points scorer across all three classes will be crowned 2003
Champion.
A new initiative for the series will be the ‘Arrive and Drive’
element for the MG ZR Class whereby a fleet of cars are being prepared
by MG Sport & Racing and run by a professional racing team. Competitively
priced packages are available and include race entry, insurance, your
own mechanic, pit crew, tyres, fuel and all services. You race prepared
car will also be delivered to the circuit. Charges will vary according
to the number of races entered and competitor's own sponsorship opportunities.
The Championship will also be attracting the occasional guest drives
from MG Sport & Racing’s XPower team.

no cost to competitors. This updates the Championship to promote the
2003 MG TF model.
