Regulations overview - BriSCA F1 Stock Cars have evolved over a period of nearly fifty years. The original 'stock car' raced in the fifties, if not straight out of the showroom was instantly recognisable in terms of its manufacturer. They have been replaced by a single seater purpose built machine designed for a highly competitive environment where contact can be both given and received and represents an important part of the overall race.

The modern BriSCA Formula One Stockcar is one of the most powerful racing cars to be found anywhere. It stands alone as the heavyweight of contact Oval Motorsport.
The car’s solid state chassis consists of 50 metres of industrial gauge steel and aircraft grade aluminium with power invariably supplied by 7 or 8 litre Chevrolet V8s. Suspension systems are usually coil over or leaf spring, although driver innovations mean that no two cars are alike.

Weight displacement is a key issue in car construction and subject to constant scrutineering and measurement. Cars can race on either shale or tarmac, with the real challenge for drivers to be competitive with the same car on both surfaces
