Regulations overview - Uniroyal
Fun Cup lets you experience the excitement, drama and passion of long
distance endurance racing with a team of like-minded drivers.
The tension of the start... fuel-stop strategy... high speed driver
changes... refuelling... are all a part of the adrenalin rush of racing,
whether behind the wheel or waiting in the pits.
Race design cars using a unique very strong tubular steel chassis
with Beetle silhouette GRP bodywork. The suspension is a combination
of special race and some production modified units with Blistein dampers
and powerful brakes. They are powered by an ultra reliable mid-mounted
1.8 litre VW/Audi engine matched to an Audi 5-speed gearbox at the
rear.
The cars have been designed to be ultra tough, durable and simple.
They will withstand a huge amount of racing with very little work and
because they are simple, they are easy to work on and repair. Even
what may look like a serious accident to one corner of the car can
usually
be quickly and inexpensively repaired with only external
items like the suspension arms bent. That’s important to keep
down costs and get you back on the track quickly.
Teams comprise between 2 – 6 drivers for UK events
and up to 8 for the Spa 25 hours. Every driver must have a minimum
of MSA National B race licence.
